The grass is greener...

These were taken today. I had been told that grass takes forever to grow in Finland, but obviously they forgot that I'd brought some rather high quality Irish weather with me. Talking about that, some of you may remember that we thought we might have seen the beginnings of a tornado during the thunderstorm that struck the electricity station about 7 k from NW. Well we have had one here. It traveled in a North-south direction starting about 15 km to the east of Kuopio, and running maybe 30 km, going near a town called Vehmersalmi, with winds of up to 160 km, and trees felled, houses damaged, power lines downed, but nobody injured. This is apparently extremely rare here, but who knows?
