The result

Having enjoyed my time singing Britten, Martin, Debussy, Gesualdo and Monteverdi, for a week, I returned, feeling guilty at having left the job unfinished. Imagine my surprise, when this was the view. We needed to get the grass seeded as soon as possible to give it a chance to grow, and the Psych. set to every evening after work with a rake. These pictures were taken on the 2oth June, just before midsummer's night. So much for the prediction that I might just about have the stump out by then. Here are before and after photos! (These give an idea of winter conditions, too.)
From here it doesn't look much different - except for the absence of a rather large tree. We'll take a similar photo in a year, once the rest of it's done! The grass has started to grow, helped by the unusually large amount of rainfall, coupled with warm conditions. Pretty much like Ireland then!
