Vappu


The first of May (outdoor dancing starts today...) is named Vappu here in Finland, and is a celebration of work and labour. It's also supposed to herald the start of summer. But this was the scene at 8 am this morning, the 2nd of May...

Yes, the house certainly looks very interesting and unusual. Can't quite work out about the half wall. Does this give some privacy to the cook, so that people don't know when there is charcoal on the menu!

Any way, good luck with the move. Hope this is the last one for some years. We'll look forward to our next visit.

The above comment was supposed to be posted under More our house, but as the computer was playing silly bee's I ended up not realising which post was being commented on.

I just wanted to say that we are enjoying temps of over 22 degrees. Blue skies and really lovely sunshine. And since my last blog the georgous Gerry has done the tarmac, so we look very smart at the front. whoppee!
